Based out of Vancouver, BC, Carole Mathys studied at the Alberta College of Art & Design obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2009.

In her practice, she is currently looking at the mind-body relationship with an emphasis on how the physical body reacts to emotional distress.

Working primarily with oils and acrylics on canvas, her paintings are composed of multiple figures forming a tangle of expressive limbs.  Partially blocked by large areas of flat colour, the figures are segmented, creating disorientation and disconnect in the pieces.

Mathys has works in private collections in Canada and Switzerland.  She has taken part in multiple arts festivals, including the Vancouver Mural Festival in 2020.
